Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Ault was callLdd to
order at 7:.0 by Mayor Pro-Tem Gilbert Armstrong. Mayor M. C. Widmaier absent.
Members present were: Burman, Clary, Robinson, Snow and Wykert.
Minutes of the regular meeting of July 6 were read and approved as read.
Financial report for the month of July was presented,
Weld County Health Department sent in two safe water samples for the month
of July.
July fire runs - 1
Anplication for building permit for the Congregational Church, Ray Furry
contractor, for an addition 36' x 36' was submitted. Moved by Wykert; seconded
by Robinson to issue permit. Roll call. Carried.
In the matter of whether bond forfeiture money should go directly to the town
or thru the hands of Police Magistrate to have costs deducted, clerk instructed .
to ask opinion of Atty. Houtchens. There was discussion on the advisability of
having the attorney attend board meetings occasionally.
Robinson presented request of the library board to have the back end of the
library lots cleaned up. Blake Armstrong to remove excess dirt as he can..
Charles Warden's application as day marshal was presented. Decided not
necessary to hire marshal now that Sherm Woods is taking day calls. The question of
sick leave for regular town employees was discussed. It was the opinion of the
board that some regular schedule should be worked out. Burman moved; Clary seconded
motion to pay Warden half of amount of Wood's monthly salary as relief marshal
during Wood's absence in July.
Gilbert Armstrong reported that investigation in other towns shows that the
Mate building code seems to be the one most used. He will inquire of Eaton about
inspectors, etc..
Armstrong also presented request of the Ault Fire Department to form a Fire
District with definitely defined boundaries. It is not advisable that Ault and
Eaton combine in one district now--tho it might be done later. Moved by Burman;
Seconded by Snow to give Fire Department permission to try to organize fire district
if wanted, with a five man board of control first to be appointed by the Fire
Department, thereafter elected to staggered terms. Roll call. Carried.
Blake Armstrong presented problem of water meters along Main Street on
plaint of Mr. Moody. Decided that commercial and dwelling to require two minimums.
Armstrong to work out each case to best of ability.
Clary reported no signs.
