Decision as to whether to purchase new ones nut off until next meeting. Widmaier reported that plan for paving has met some opposition from some taxpayers. On the question of the proposed addition to the town it was suggested that a future meeting with the whole board and other interested parties might be advisable. Blake Armstrong presented request of Bill Harring as to where a sidewalk on his Property on Allison street should be laid. Street and Alley committee to investigate. As to the question of water charge for Trailer Courts when there are no trailers parked --minimum charge nrevials unless the water is actually turned off for a full month. Trash hauling charge is included with the water bill and applies unless the water is turned off --whether or not there are trailers narked. Meeting adjourned 9:10, subject to the call of the Mayor. /rg Mayor Regular Meeting October 5, 1959 Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Ault was called to order at 8 P. M. by Mayor M. C. Widmaier. Members present were Armstrong, Burman, Clary, Robinson, Snow and Wykert. The following guests attended: Ift. H. Prange, Melvin Hoffner, Ike Snow, H. M. Kurtz, Doug Galloway, Charles Burman, Stanford Hall, Lester Hotaling and W. D. Patterson. Minutes of the meeting of September 7 were read and approved as read. September fire runs - 2 Blake Armstrong reported that tree clean-up from the storm was progressing well but would require another two days. Extra help has been hired. Old business: Widmaier reported that Herring is apparently making no effort to clean up the burned out lots as promised. Board decided to see attorney as to official notice and action. The Graefe plan for an addition to the Town was presented by Widmaier. W. H. Prange.exnlained that a building code acceptable to F.H.A. or V. A. specifications will prevail -probably the Blue Book code. Survey will include curb and gutter, road grading, etc.. Prange pointed out that annexation is needed before the land can be platted and titles perfected. Widmaier stated that the present First Ave. water main will have to be replaced soon anyway so the loon over to hook on to the Graefe Ave. and approximately 1075 feet down the extension of Graefe Ave. would be the only new part required for the water :main. Graefe's proposal to round off the corner of the pump house lot was mentioned. Lester Hotaling presented an estimate of cost of the new water line --5.78 per foot with 6" pipe and 8..60 with 4", all labor and materials included, with fire hydrants every 333 feet (approx.) Moved by Nykert; Seconded by Snow: Motion to accept the proposed annexation known as the Graefe's Seventh Addition to the Town of Ault and furnish water mains in the area. Roll call. Carried. Matter to be turned over to attorney for proper procedure. W. D, 'Jatterson of Nelson Haley Patterson and Quirk, consulting engineering firm presented plan for services of municipal engineer on retainer basis --proposed agreement: to attend at least ! meeting per year as consultant. To maintain town utility maps. Write specification on contract jobs. Advisory service by phone or at their office (no inspections in the field). Contract 5200.00 per year, payable. quarterly. Doug Galloway announced that the final proof of the Fire District has been accepted. He inquired as to whether the Town would like to sell equipment to the new (continued)
