Mayor Regular Meeting January 4, 1960 Regular meeting of the Trustees of the Town of Ault called to order at 7:45 by M. C. Widmaier, Mayor. Members present: Armstrong, Burman, Clary, Robinson, Snow, Wykert: Minutes of the meeting of -December 7 were read and approved as read. Financial report for the month of December was presented. Weld County Helath Department sent in two safe water samples for the month of Dec. Request of Lester Hotaling for instructions and permission to connect to water line for Charles Burman. Blake Armstrong instructed to work out plan with Hotaling and Burman as to most practical way. In the future Armstrong to inspect all installations. Paul McClure reported on his survey concerning the drainage problem at the corner of Hayden and Last 3rd St. He stated that approximately 1000 feet of underground culvert would be required if it is to be buried. One plan, depending upon the acquisition of an easement across the Jim Farmer lots south of 3rd St., would divert the water to the south, then down the alley and into a culvert across 2nd St. This plan would require about 470 feet of underground culvert and flat pipe 11" x 18" was suggested. A four foot cut down 3rd street to 3rd avenue with 18" concrete tile with probably 3 catch basins would cost approximately 41 760.00. McClure made a further recommendation regarding the new 7th Graefe Addition. Drainage from 1170 feet will drain into 5th St. near the Pump House. He recommended that drain down the alley on the west side of town be provided before grading goes too far. .Board discussed the possibility of securing easement from Jim Farmer and also the possibility of buying the lots outright and putting in an open ditch. Matter to be investigated further before next meeting. Moved by Snow, seconded by Wykert to renew beer license to the V.F.W. Club. Roll call. Carried. Request of A. A. Mason for Town to deed him 2 feet of land from the Library lot for a driveway. Blake Armstrong to investigate and find out just what is wanted.
