Home My Public Portal About1999.193 (11-16-99)RESOLUTION NO '99.193 "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION :HELD IN SAID CITY' ON NOVEMBER 2, 1999, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND' SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE `PROVIDED BY LAW" y WHEREAS- a General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the -City of Lynwood, California, on Tuesday, November 2, 1999; and : WHEREAS; pursuant to Resolution No. 99.91. adopted June 15, 1999, the ":election was consolidated with the, General. Municipal Election and. the Registrar Recorder canvassed , the returns, of said'election and has certified the results to this City Council, said results are received, attached and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time; form and manner as provided by law; and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast, there at, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as. required by,:the� provisions of the Elections Code of the State' of California. NOW,. THEREFORE', the' City Council: of the City of Lynwood does. hereby resolve, declare, determine and order as follows:' Section 1. That there were ten (10) voting precincts established for the., -purpose of holding said.election consisting of the regular election precincts in said City as established,for,the holding of state and county elections. Section 2. r That said General Municipal Election was held for the purpose of electing the following officers of said City as required by laws relating to cities in the State of California; Two (2) : members of the City Council of said City for one term of four (4) years. One (1) City.Clerk of said.City for one term of four (4) years. One (1) City Treasurer of said City for one term of four (4) years. Section 3. That the whole number of votes cast in said City was 4,147. That,the names of persons voted for at said election' for the City Council are as follows: FERNANDO PEDROZA LETICIA CORRALES'VASQUEZ ARTURO REYES MARIA ELENA ROMERO LOUIS BYRD ALLAN S. MACIEL ALEXANDER.I. MARIN Write-in . candidate: HARRY C. GIBBENS, SR. That the names of persons voted for at said election for City Clerk are as follows: ZENEYDA. DURAN ANDREA L. HOOPER MARIA T. SANTILLAN That the names of persons votes for at said election for City Treasurer are as follows: IRIS P,YGATT EDWIN R. JACINTO HILDA FIGUEROA Section 4. The City Council does declare and determine that: Louis Byrd was elected Member of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years. Arturo Reyes was elected Member of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years. Andrea L. Hooper was elected as City Clerk of said City for the full term of four:: years. j 4 Iris Pygatt was elected as City Treasurer of said City for the full µterm of four years. Section 5. The City Clerk shall enter on the record of the City Council of said City, a Statement of�results of said election showing: 1. The whole number of votes cast in the City. 2. The names of the persons voted for. 3. For what office each person was voted for. Section 6. That the City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to each of such persons so elected a Certificate of Election signed' by the City Clerk and duly authenticated; that the City Clerk shall also administer to each person elected, the Oath of Office prescribed in the State Constitution of the State of California and shall be inducted into the respective office to which they have been elected. Section 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of adoption of the Resolution shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute -of passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the -City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
