RESOLUTION NO. 06 -4461
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY UPHOLDING THE PLANNING COMMISSION'S ACTION AND
DENYING SEVERAL ZONE VARIANCES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW 2,511 SQUARE FOOT SINGLE FAMILY
RESIDENCE AND A 420 SQUARE FOOT GARAGE. THE VARIANCE
REQUESTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: (1). TO ALLOW A 5' -0" SIDE YARD
SETBACK IN LIEU OF 7' -0" REQUIRED FOR THE SINGLE STORY
PORTION OF THE HOUSE; (2). TO ALLOW THE CONSTRUCTION OF A
TWO -STORY RESIDENCE ON A "FLAG LOT "; AND (3). TO ALLOW A
SECOND FLOOR SIDE ELEVATION TO EXCEED 24 -FEET IN LENGTH
WITHOUT ARCHITECTURAL ARTICULATION OF AT LEAST 2 -FEET IN
DEPTH. THE SUBJECT SITE IS LOCATED AT 6023 ENCINITA AVENUE
AND IS SITUATED IN THE SINGLE - FAMILY RESIDENTIAL (R -1) ZONE.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. Based upon information contained in the staff report to the City Council and
information contained in the Planning Commission staff report as well as the Planning Commission minutes
of September 12, 2006, and based upon a review of the plans and based upon testimony received at a
noticed public hearing before the Planning Commission on September 12, 2006 and based upon a noticed
public hearing before the City Council on October 17, 2006, the City Council hereby upholds the action of the
Planning Commission and denies the Zone Variance based upon the findings set forth in Planning
Commission Resolution No. 06 -2202 PC.
SECTION 2. Accordingly, Zone Variance 06 -1674 is hereby denied.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 17th DAY OF OCTOBER 2006.
