Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Ault called to order at 8 p. m.
by Mayor H. E. Robinson. Members present: Armstrong, Clary, Loewen, Prange, Snow,
Wykert. Also present: James P. Johnson, atty.
Minutes of the meeting of Feb. 6 read and approved as read.
Financial report for the month of February presented.
Weld County Health Department sent in 2 safe water samples for the month of Feb.
Application for building permit for Ed Lesh to move in shingle roof, frame house,
26' x 38' and to build addition on Wi Lots 10, 11 and 12, Block One, Graefe Addition
approved by motion of Wykert; Seconded by Prange. Roll call. Carried.
Moved by Clary, Seconded by Wykert to grant building permit to G. E. earring to
construct mercantile building 25' x 70', brick walls, steel roof and concrete floor on
Lot 12, Block One, Original Town. Roll call. Carried.
Moved by Snow; Seconded by Clary to approve application of Izola M. Nagel for
renewal of 3.2% beer license. Roll call. Carried.
Protest of Lester Hotaling against ordinance on licensing of pool tables presented.
Ordinance#66 provides license fee of $100 for the first table and $10 for each additional
table. Moved by Clary, Seconded by Wykert to amend ordinance #66 concerning the operation
of pool halls to make a charge of $25.00 per annum for the first table and $10 for each
additional table, payable by the year in advance. Roll call. Carried.
Applications for position of night marshal presented. Referred to police com-
mittee for personal interviews.
Armstrong reported on progress in renumbering houses and business properties in
the town. Resolution that change of all numbers be made according to the plan as
presented was passed by motion of Prange. Seconded by Wykert. Roll call. Carried.
The following ordinance was read and passed on first reading: "Be it ordained by
the Board of Trustees of the Town of Ault, County of Weld, State of Colorado, this
6th day of March, 1961: The Town of Ault has heretofore entered into an, agreement with
John I. and Emma W. Woods whereby the Woods have granted unto the Town of Ault a per-
petual easement: The :rest 4' of Lot 40, Block 5, First Addition to the Town of Ault;
for the purpose of constructing and maintaining a drainage ditch. Said easement is
on file and may be inspected in the office of the City Clerk."
After considerable discussion the following proposal was presented as a motion
by Prange, Seconded -by Loewen: Moved that if the proposed tennis court is located on
school grounds the town will furnish adequate lighting. Roll call. Carried.
Correspondence: Invitation to Institute for Mayors and Councilmen in Boulder
March 17 & 18.
Wykert reported on meeting of Board members with the County Commissioners con-
cerning paving. The attitude of the commissioners concerning paving of the county road
through town and assistance on the other streets was favorable. They agreed to look
into the matter and will cooperate providing there is not too much opposition_ from
private enterprise. If possible, the work might be done next- fall.
Moved by Armstrong, Seconded by Wykert motion to pay a full month's salary for
Sherman Woods to Clara Woods. Roll call. Carried.
