Memorandum of Understanding between the
City of Crestview
and
IAFF 2680
concerning Furlough Days
During the budget process for 2012-2013 the City Council of the City of Crestview
approved a budget which included 5 furlough days for the City of Crestview employees.
Sick leave or Annual leave can be used to supplement this lost time, if the employee has
time available.
Those days were decided to be 2/18/2013, Presidents' Day, 3/29/2013 Good Friday,
5/27/2013 Memorial Day, 7/4/2013 July 4th and September 2, 2013, Labor day
(September 11 vs September 2 for firefighters)
Those budgetary reductions were based on the Normal Holiday pay for employees,
either 8 or 10 for 40 hour week employees, and 11.2 for Firefighters.
Our proposal to the Local Union members is as follows:
As Furlough days are a management right, there will be 5 furlough days for all
employees. For Local IAFF 2680 the proposal is:
The Local IAFF 2680 agree to the following: To take the furlough day on the actual
holiday, and furlough time will only be charged to 10 hours per day, i.e. if off, will be
paid 1.2 hours holiday pay; If working, will be paid regular pay and 7 hours of holiday
pay vs the 17.
