Carried. Mayor Jul" 10, 1961 Special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Ault called to order by Mayor H. E. Robinson to consider possibilities of paving for the Town. Members present: Armstrong, Clary, Loewen, Prange, Snow and Wykert. .also pre- sent were Tom Reed, County Commissioner, Paul McClure, George H.eeberlein, Albert Allison, Joe Cuffel and Oscar Parsons. Mr. Reed stated that the county would get the streets ready for oil and any materials which the county right have left over from their projects which would be less than a mile would be furnished to the Town at cost. Mr. Reed explained that getting the streets ready means shaping for grade. Mr. McClure stated that curb and gutter is necessary to the paving project. He was instructed to make a survey of the town to establish grade and width of streets. Lynnden Fletcher had submitted a bid of 40 cents .per foot for dips in the inter- sections --dips to be 6 feet wide and 6« deep at an approximate cost of :120.00 each. Moved by Prange, Seconded by Snow to put in 6 dips on the Fletcher bid. Roll call. Carried. Moved by Wykert, Seconded by Prange that the above motion be amerced to include one more dip --that one at the Baptist church corner.. Roll call. Carried. Complaint of Lester Motaling concerning sidewalk on his property,- on First Ave. presented by Blake Armstrong. Matter referred to McClure. In the matter of a relief cop, moved by Wykert, Seconded by Loewen that Edgar Brown be appointed. Roll call. Carried. Grams presented several requests regarding equipment and recommendations for signs, ordinances, etc.. He was instructed to write up the complaints for the con- siderat ion of the police committee. A communication from the Water Tank Service of Dallas, Tex. submitted a proposal for cleaning and painting the interior of the water storage tanks. Blake Armstrong instructed to investigate need and report. Meeting adjourned. Members present: Armstrong, Clary, Loewen, Prange, Snow, Wykert. ,A.)plications submitted by David Babcock, Lester McFarland, and Ben Bailey. Moved by Prange, Seconded by Wykert that David Babcock be hired as night marshal at a salary of 000.00 per month. Roll call. Carried. Babcock instructed to begin his duties July 29. Moved by Snow, Seconded by Prange to spray the town for mosquitoes and flies. Roll call. Carried. Kenny Hyde, Jr. to be contacted concerning arrangements. Concerning the drainage right of way at Hayden and Third, Blake Armstrong instructed to call Dever's in regard to removing a tree and concrete and to put in the tile as previously provided, Moved by Snow, Seconded by Loewen that the townput in curb and gutter on the town properties on First Avenue and on Fifth and Graef;. Roll call. Carried. Meeting adjourned. Regular Meeting ()at" Mayor August 7, 1961 Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Ault called to order at B P. M. by Mayor H. F. Robinson. Members present: Armstrong, Clary, Loewen, Snow, "" Prange and Wykert. Alsopresent were Paul McClure and Harry a Cornell of the Portland Cement Assn., Denver. Guests were M. C. Widmaier, George Heberlein, Albert Allison, and Harry Kurtz. Mr. Cornell cave an explanation of the soil cement technique of paving illus- trating the Procedure with slides. He explained that his association is engaged in research and development and educational work with the engineers and architects in design. It is a technical organizetion--not a sales agency and their services are avail- able if that process is decided upon. He estimated that the native soil here would work well in the process and could probably be laid at an estimated cost of $1.25 to ?1.20 per square yard.
