CALL TO ORDER
The May 1, 2009, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:03 P.M. by Mayor John
Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Carroll, Ferguson, Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Medin, Penfold, Pope,
Scrivner, and Struemph
Absent: None
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Bills:
2009 -8 and 2009 -9 (Midwest Block and Brick Rezoning and PUD): Councilman Dan Klindt
gave a report on the Planning & Zoning Commission meetings he had attended at which
this issue was discussed and acted upon. He stated there is currently negotiations under
way between Midwest Block and Brick and the area residents.
2009 -14 (Contract with Weathecraft for roof replacement at City Hall): Mayor John
Landwehr announced he would abstain from any discussion or action on this bill as
Weathercraft has been a client of his for some time.
2009 -15 (Neighborhood Stabilization Grant Agreement): Mayor John Landwehr asked for
a thorough explanation of this issue on Monday night to give details about the "money trail."
Councilman Ron Medin announced that he will consult with City Counselor Nathan
Nickolaus to ask whether he may need to recuse himself due to conflict of interest in this
matter. He will let the Mayor and Council know whether his abstention is advised.
