City of Greencastle Board of Public Works and Safety
A Resolution Approving the Purchase of Badger Water Meters and Related Meter
Reading Equipment
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle Water Department has purchased radio frequency
water meters from Midwest Meter Inc. which can be read by use of a handheld device;
WHEREAS, the City wishes to equip all residences and businesses with similar meters
and purchase compatible computer equipment which will aid in the reading of the meters;
WHEREAS, the use of the above equipment will provide more accurate monthly
readings, eliminate the need for using estimates and lessen the time necessary for
personnel to take meter readings.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,by the City of Greencastle Board of Public
Works and Safety that it hereby approves the purchase of the equipment listed in
Attachment A,which is attached hereto and incorporated herein for the amount of
$447,673.75.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Board hereby approves the City entering into a loan
with First National Bank, 1128 Indianapolis Road, Greencastle, Indiana, for the financing
of the full amount of the purchase price (loan#415919), at a rate of 2.890% to be repaid
in the period of five years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Board hereby grants Susan V. Murray, Mayor and
member of the Greencastle Board of Public Works and Safety, full authority to borrow
the money on behalf and in the name of the City of Greencastle, sign, execute and deliver
promissory notes or other evidences of indebtedness and to procure the new meters and
reading equipment described in Attachment A.
