on March 6, 1972,
with Mayor Eckhoff presiding and all councilmen present.
The minutes of the February meeting were read
and approved on a
motion by Hippen, seconded by Van Deest. Carried.
Fairbanks made a motion, seconded by Huisman,
to allow for payment

The treasurer's report was approved as read on a motion by Heinrich,
seconded by Hippen. Carried.
The Iowa State Highway Finance Street Report was approved as pre-
pared by the clerk on a motion by Van Deest, seconded by Fairbanks.
Carried.
Harold Hogle and Glen Button, representing Melrose Township,
appeared before the council requesting fire protection for specified
areas within the township. A motion was made by Huisman, seconded by
Heinrich to accept the Melrose Township proposal and to set a one-half
mill levy on all townships provided fire protection by the Wellsburg
Fire Department. Carried.
A motion was made by Fairbanks, seconded by Huisman, to have a
street light installed at the corner of East Jackson and 8th Street.
Carried.
City Engineer Hollis Ryken met with the council to discuss the
possible extension of sanitary sewer lines. Ryken was instructed to
conduct further investigation of the matter.
Huisman made a motion, seconded by Fairbanks for adjournment.
Carried.
