Curb and -Gutter ordinance No. 138 and special ordinance creating Ault Paving District 9 1 passed on first reading. Reports from the board members concerning canvass of pro merty owners on question of paving presented. Not all owners have been contacted. Galloway, for police committee, reported an intrview with James Cavender, applicant for position of night marshal. Moved by Allison, Seconded by Snow that Cavender be hired on a trial basis as of June 1. Roll call. Carried. Estimates of cost of replacing water mains on A and B. streets and on Second and Third streets presented by McClure. Moved by Allison, Seconded by Pr ng e that a bond'issue, presently estimated at $20,000 be arranged. Said bonds to be retired over a period of 10 years. Roll call. Carried. Moved by Prange, Seconded by Galloway that McClure prepare specifications rreoaratory to publishin �; for bids on materials and, labor proposals by next week.
