HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 06-03 Purchase of a flusher/deicer truckRESOLUTION 06-03 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF McCALL, IDAHO, REGARDING THE SUBMISSION OF A CONGESTION MITIGATION AND AIR QUALITY PROGRAM APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL AID FUNDING THROUGH THE IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, PROVIDING FOR RELATED MATTERS, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to support efforts that improve the environmental quality thereby benefiting the citizens and visitors of McCall; and WHEREAS, the need for a dust abatement program has been documented in the McCall Area Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the City of McCall provides for a dust abatement program annually; and WHEREAS, the purchase of a flusher/deicer truck has been identified as a needed addition to the dust abatement equipment of the City of McCall; and WHEREAS, the Idaho Department of Transportation administers federal aid funding that provides for capital purchases for equipment dust abatement projects which is known as the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality program; and WHEREAS, the estimated cost of such truck is $198,000 in program year 2009, and WHEREAS, there are matching fund requirements of 7.34% for the City of McCall to participate in such federal aid funding for an estimated $14,533 in program year 2009 ; and WHEREAS, the City of McCall certifies that it has the legal authority to apply for such federal aid funding and agrees to comply with all federal rules for contracting, auditing, and financial management of funds, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of McCall, Valley County, Idaho hereby support and endorse the participation of the City of McCall in the submission of a Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality application to the Idaho Transportation Department for federal aid funding for the purchase of a flusher/deicer truck. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval. Passed and approved this 12th day of January, 2006. onald C.
