Lawn, Jr., District D Councilor Watertown Town Council Administration Building 149 Main Street Watertown, MA 02472 Phone: 617-972-6470 PROCLAMATION WHEREAS: The students and Fine, Applied and Performing Arts Department faculty of the Watertown Public Schools have shown great dedication and enthusiasm in creating, understanding and appreciating the fine and performing arts; and, WHEREAS: The fine and performing arts are basic to a core curriculum for our youth and therefore, are of great importance to the comprehensive education of Watertown students; and, WHEREAS: The Town of Watertown wishes to recognize and show its support for the fine and performing arts in education and the achievements of our school children in the arts. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Council of the City known as the Town of Watertown, along with the State and National Art Education Association, the State and National Music Education Association and the Watertown Public Schools, proclaim March, 2010 as ARTS IN OUR SCHOOLS MONTH and urge all citizens to participate in the activities honoring the fine and performing arts in our schools.
