' OF LYNWOOD APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF ~ -
. VARIOUS NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK WATCH-SIGNS AND
'~ MATERIALS, AUTHORIZING ITS PURCHASE THROUGH.. -
AN INFORMAL BID PROCESS, AND AUTHORIZING TH'E
' CITY'MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO MAKE THE.
NECESSARY FUNDS APPROPRIATIONS AND .~ _ -
.- ~. TRANSFERS.,, ,

WHEREAS; Neighborhood Block Watch clubs are one of the most effective
ways to prevent crime and reduce fear among residents; and
. WHEREAS; the City has long supported its Neighborhood Block Council
. ~ irr its efforts to reduce. burglaries, robberies, and forging bonds among residents
. ~ through the block clubs; and
. ~ 1NHEREAS, the Block. Council is requesting various materials and
~~-supplies for the block club operations such .as.replacing faded and gratified street, signs,
' home placards, eta; and -
WHEREAS, these costs-are not ..included in the FY 1999-2000 budget;
and
"WHEREAS, the items needed can be more economically and
' ,expeditiously completed ifdone through an informal bidding .process; and
( ~ WHEREAS,. under Section 6-3.13 of the' Lynwood Municipal Code,
Council can authorize the informal bidding process by a 4'/5/ vote; and -
N'OW, THEREFORE, the City. Council of the. City of .Lynwood does .hereby
- find, proclaim, .order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the Rurchase of the materials and supplies needed for the
Neighborhood Block,Council is approved'for implementation through an informal
bidding process. `
.Section 2. That the City Manager or his designee israuthorized to make the
following funds appropriations and transfers: _ -
