PUBLIC HEARING FOR RONNIE BARNES ADDITION WAS CONDUCTED FIRST.
PRESENT: Mayor Karen Hansen, Betty McKinlay, Ron Nelson, Dave
Huntsman, Dee Johnson, Craig Rockwood, Deb Sorenson.
VISITORS: Ross Johnson, David Morrow, Matthew Powell, Richard
Black, Jinni & Tom Hutton, Blaine Drewes, Ken & Lynn Longmore,
Dave Benton, Susan & Ronnie Barnes, Lynn Rockwood, Lindsey
Huntsman, Dawnece Woolf.
The Mayor welcomed everyone. Dave Huntsman conducted the Public
Hearing for Ronnie Barnes Addition. Discussion was on the
drawings. Dave Benton from Benton Engineering explained how the
addition would be layed out. Questions were asked by the
audience. Being the first Sub -division for Iona, some things
were lacking on the drawings and things need to be written up so,
this Hearing will be continued next month.
Craig Rockwood moved to Adjourn until Nov. 3. Dave Huntsman 2nd.
CITY COUNCIL MEETING began at 8:00 pm.
Visitors: Lynn Rockwood, Lindsey Huntsman, Blaine Drewes, Ross
Johnson.
Minutes were read from previous City Council Meeting. Craig
Moved they be approved as read. Dee 2nd.
Lynn Rockwood was in attendance to discuss his platting. He
wants to sell a lot. Where there is only one lot to sell, a
drawing is not required. Dave moved to approve platting North
West corner of Lynn Rockwood property, with minimum frontage of
80 ft. and minimum sq. footage of 9,000. Dee 2nd. All were in
favor.
Blaine Drewes from Division of Environmental Quality was in
attendance to discuss what the fees are for from their company.
It is to assist funding the State Drinking Water Program. The
Mayor proposed to the Council to bill each household $4.00 for a
one time fee. The Council was in agreeance to assess the people
in Nov.
The Financial Report was not ready for this meeting.

Dee moved to accept the bills. Dave 2nd.
Ron discussed the water account $109.32 is left from the Water
Project.
The County has a sander and mower available we can buy if the
City has the money to purchase them.
Halloween falls on Sunday this year and Dee was wondering about
proclaiming Sat. night as Trick or Treat night.
Council reports were given. Dee was wondering about the
pavement on Scoresby. It has been paved. The street lights are
out in a couple of places and will be replaced this month.
Dave was wondering about the Water Ordinance if everyone had read
it. He wants to pass it soon. Dave, Ross and Karen need to go
through it together. Dave is also concerned about the Animal
Control in Iona.
Craig discussed the Grant for the roof. The bids from the
roofing companys was discussed. It has to be bid on. But, there
is no time for bids. As we speak it is raining and the roof is
leaking. Ross just put a bucket under the drips. The roof will
not make it through the winter and there will be too much
destruction. Craig mentioned that the Mayor could declare an
emergency and forego the bids. Dale Storer could draw the
document to declare an energency. The Council agreed on a metal
roof.
Craig discussed the Water fee for new people moving in. Any hook
up fees need to be kept in their own fund from now on.
Deb discussed the Halloween Dance Oct. 29th. Lions Club will
furnish dinner. There will be a fee.
The Resolution on Block Grant Equal Employment Opportunity Policy
was passed. Dee moved and Deb 2nd. The Gem Committee meeting is
next week. The Block Grant Hearing will be next week, also.
The willows have been sprayed along the Railroad.
The Mayor discussed the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)
Policy briefly and that the City Council needs to pass it.
Election Board was approved for Elections on Nov. 2. Betty
McKinlay as Chief Judge, ReNae Bodily, Alice Olsen, and Vicky
Baldwin as Board members.
Dee moved to adjourn 10:30 pm.
