A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF TWENTY
THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED
GENERAL FUND BALANCE TO CONDUCT A MOTHER OF THE
YEAR CONTEST
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood conducts numerous special programs and .events to
celebrate many holidays as well as to honor important people here in the City, and
WHEREAS, Mothers must be deemed as very important people, and
WHEREAS, an essay contest was developed so that students here in the City of Lynwood
could nominate their mothers as "Mother of the Year", and
WHEREAS, the estimated number of entrants has greatly exceeded what was anticipated,
and
WHEREAS, costs associated with the conduction of the event has risen accordingly; and
WHEREAS, the original amount identified in the budget for this program was four
thousand nine hundred and seventy-five dollars, and
WHEREAS, the cost to conduct this event. is now substantially more, and
WHEREAS, there is now a short fall in the program budget of twenty thousand dollars
. ($20,000.00), and
. WHEREAS, this event was not originally identified as part of the 1999/2000 adopted
budget, and

j NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carryout any necessary
transactions as so ordered by this resolution.
Section 2. That a fund appropriation in the amount of twenty thousand dollars
($20,000.00) be executed as follows:

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
