A RESOLUTION ~OF THE, CITY COUNCIL OF ,THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY. MANAGER TO REQUEST FROM -
- HUD AN EXTENSION FOR SUBMITTAL OF HUD CONSOLIDATED PLAN
'` AND ONE YEAR ACTION PLAIV.fUNDING.APPLICATIONS - .

WHEREAS, jurisdictions receiving. Community Development Block Grant
(CDBG) and. HOME Program funds; are required by -HUD to develop a
Consolidated Plan that encompasses a .5-year. strategy to be followed in
implementing HUD programs; and ~ -
WHEREAS, in addition, an annual Action -Plan must be developed to
. provide a basin for assessing performance to ensure accountability and results;
_ ~ and
' WHEREAS, the Consolidated Five-year Plan 2000-2005 and Annual
Action Plan 2000-2001 are due for submittal to HUD by May 15, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the.City is unable to meet the deadline date for submittal due
- to a delay in advertising, which resulted in additional -time needed. for the public
' review period;, and
WHEREAS, the City desires to comply, with federal regulations and allow ,~
. ;for proper.public review and availability of the. Plans; and c `
- WHEREAS, an extension of the deadline is needed to allow sufficient time.
for review of the daft plans. -
' NOW, THEREFORE, .the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. Approve and authorize the City Manager or his designee .to
apply for a .deadline extension from :May 15, 2000, to June 9, 2000, to the - .
Department. of Housing and Urban .Development, for the submittal of ~ .
' Consolidated Plans. and HUD funding applications. .
. Section 2. This Resolution authorizes staff to prepare and- submit the .
- appropriate documentation. .
Section 3. This Resolution. shall become effective immediately upon its
- .adoption. - -
PASSED,_APPROVED, and ADOPTED this ?nd day of May 2000.
