. . A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
' LYNWOOD APPROVING•WITHDRAWAL FROM THE ~ t.
- AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITIES OF DOWNEY; COMPTON, -
• LYNWOOD, MONTEBELLO: AND~SA,NTA FE SPRINGS.

- WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood approved an Agreement Between, the Cities of
' ~ Downey,:Compton; Lynwood', Montebello and Santa Fe Springs relating to coordinated fire
• reporting and"dispatching ("Joint Powers Communications Agreement".); and
WHEREAS, a Joint Powers Communications Center located in Downey
process 911 emergency calls, provide iogistic,and support services for the signatory parties which
are the cities of Downey, Comptori, Lynwood, Montebello and Santa Fe Springs, `under the Joint
- -Powers Communications Agreement ;and
. ~ WHEREAS; the Lynwood City Council on April 18, 2000 adopted a resolution
approving the. Agreement forServices By and Between the Consolidated Fire Protection District of •
Los Angeles County and the City of Lynwood ("Annexation Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to. Section 8' of the Annexation Agreement the .City must
transfer 9-1-1 calls to the District; and . -
..WHEREAS', in order ;to facilitate the terms of the Annexation Agreement the City
must withdraw from the Joint Powers Communications Agreement; and
. WHEREAS, a 1997 amendment to the Joint Powers Communications Agreement,
. ~ allows for any signatory party to withdraw from this Joint Powers Communications Agreement at
any time upon One Hundred and Twenty _(120) days written notice to all of the remaining signatory
- ~~ parties; and -

NOW. THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY
FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
. ~ Section 1. That~fhe City Council "approves the withdrawal from the '
- Agreement between the Cities of Downey, Compton; Lynwood, Montebello and Santa Fe Springs
- relating to coordinated fire reporting and dispatching. ~ - .•
. - Section 2. That the City Council. establishes the official withdrawal being ~ •
four (4) hours~after the commencemenfdate of services by.the Consolidated Fire Protection '
District of Los Angeles County.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
