Call to Order 6:15 PM
A. Roll Call
The City of Tiffin City Council held a work session Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 at the City Hall
Council Chambers. Mayor Berner called the meeting to order at 6:16 PM. Upon roll being called the
following members were present: Jim Bartels, Al Havens, Eric Schnedler, Peggy Upton. Absent: Mike
Ryan. Others present City Administrator Doug Boldt, Interim City Clerk Abigail Hora, City Engineer
Ben Carhoff and others present.
B.Agenda Additions/Agenda Approval
Motion to approve agenda by Havens
Second by Schnedler
All ayes, motion carried.
C. Discussion of Little Free Libraries within the City of Tiffin Coordinated Project with Tiffin
Middle School Class
Discussion: Would like two libraries installed this fall. Pond on Goldfinch, Deerview Park, Prairie
Village (near Sprout), Woodfield Park, City Park near ball diamonds.
D. Discussion of Recreation Director for the City of Tiffin
Discussion: Have Rec Direction start on Flag Football and Youth Soccer. 28E with the school.
Internship setting up a rec program before hiring a director. Job Description will be on the next work
session.
E.Questions from Council Members regarding items on the Regular City Council Agenda
Discussion: Additional streetlights on Deerview near Hwy 6. Grass Clipping Ordinance spread the word,
add to the newsletter. Ordinance on a database for a more searchable view. No Parking on Oakdale
Blvd. Possibly changing the speed limit on Oakdale Blvd from 25 mph to 35 mph.

5. Discussion: Guard rail installed on Park Road, East sidewalk on RFR
should be done before winter shut down. Original Town Phase 1 closed out before end of
October.
