Work Session Call to Order 6:15 PM
A. Roll Call
The City of Tiffin City Council held a work session Tuesday, November 5th, 2019 at the Springmier
Library located at the Clear Creek Amana Middle School. Mayor Berner called the meeting to order at
6:16 PM. Upon roll being called the following members were present: Jim Bartels, Al Havens, Eric
Schnedler, Peggy Upton. Absent: Mike Ryan. Others present City Administrator Doug Boldt, Interim
City Clerk Abigail Hora, City Engineer Ben Carhoff and others present.
B.Agenda Additions/Agenda Approval
Motion to approve agenda by Schnedler. Second by Bartels. All ayes, motion carried.
C. Discussion and Review of Job Description for Recreation Director for the City of Tiffin
Discussion: We will begin posting for this position and give a 6-8 week time frame for hiring.
D. Questions from Council Members regarding items on the Regular City Council Agenda
Discussion: I-3 motion to table and have Planning and Zoning review changes, staff agrees they are
more than minor changes.

5. Discussion and Consideration of Hiring Office Assistant in City Hall and Council Action as
Needed. Motion to approve Emily Meyer as Office Assistant by Schnedler. Second by Havens
All ayes, motion carried.
6. Motion to Adjourn from Regular Session into Closed Session in Accordance with Iowa Code
Chapter 21.5(j) for Potential Real Estate Purchase by Bartels. Second by Schnedler. Roll Call:
