A resolution indicating support for the development of the
Island -in -the -Sky Roads, Development Package 106.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Moab recognizes
the need for development of tourism facilities in the immediate
vicinity; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Moab recognizes
the severity of the local economic situation and an increasing
emphasis being placed on the tourism industry; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Moab is aware
of the plans for or lack thereof by the United States Department
of the Interior, National Park Service, to further develop the
roadway into Island -in -the -Sky at Canyonlands National Park;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Moab endorses and supports the concept of develop-
ment of the Island -in -the -Sky Road Development Package 106.
