Memorandum
To: Michael J. Driscoll, Town Manager
From: Chief Mario A. Orangio
Date: January 7, 2014
Subject: Gift Acceptance
Mr. Manager,
As a follow up to my December 10, 2013 memo announcing the receipt of a gift in the form of a
$5,000.00 check from A. Daniel Dell`Elce, the fire department plans to use the gift funds to offset
the cost of replacing our oldest thermal imaging camera which was recently removed from service.
A new camera has a cost of roughly$6,000- $7,000. Rather than spend money to repair the older
unit we can combine the repair funds with the gift to acquire the new unit. Thermal cameras are an
integral part of our operations particularly in the area of search and rescue during fireground
operations.
