3. NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FOR CONSIDERATION OF A FEE WAIVER FOR RESERVED
USE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION FOR THE 2015 NATIONAL
DAY OF PRAYER ON MAY 7, 2015 AND FOR PLACEMENT OF A BANNER
IN TEMPLE CITY PARK ANNOUNCING THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
The Commission approved both requests.
B. REQUEST FROM OAK AVENUE INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL FOR
RESERVED USE OF THE LIVE OAK PARK COMMUNITY CENTER FOR
THEIR 8TH GRADE PROMOTION DINNER AND DANCE ON JUNE 10, 2015
The Commission approved the request.
C. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY AMERICAN LITTLE LEAGUE (TCALL)
FOR RESERVED USE OF THE ATHLETIC FIELDS AT LIVE OAK PARK
FOR ALL-STAR GAMES AND PRACTICES JUNE 10-JULY 14, 2015
The Commission approved the request for reserved use of the baseball
diamond, practice field and concession stand for various all-star tournament
games and practices from June 27-July 14, 2015 and approved extension
of park hours from 10 p.m. -11 p.m. Monday through Saturday during that
time for completion of tournament games only. TCALL is to pay for all staff
costs after 10 p.m.
D. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY AMATEUR SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION
(TCASA) FOR RESERVED USE OF THE ATHLETIC FIELDS AT LIVE OAK
PARK FOR POST SEASON GAMES AND PRACTICES MAY 2 -JULY 11,
2015
The Commission approved the request for reserved use of the softball
diamond for post season practices and games from May 2 -July 11, 2015
from 5 -9 p.m. Monday -Friday, and from 8 a.m. -9 p.m. on Saturdays.
The Commission also approved reserved use of the softball field for
tournament games from 5 -10 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015; from 8 a.m. -
10 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015; and from 8 a.m.-dusk on Sunday, May
31,2015 (no lights allowed on Sunday). The Commission authorized the use
of a bouncer for Closing Ceremonies on May 2, 2015 and an outside food
vendor on May 31, 2015.
E. REQUEST FROM TRI CITY SAINTS YOUTH FOOTBALL AND CHEER FOR
RESERVED USE OF THE ATHLETIC FIELDS AT LIVE OAK PARK FOR
PRE-SEASON PRACTICE APRIL 20 -JULY 29, 2015 AND REGULAR
City Council

SEASON PRACTICE FROM AUGUST 3-NOVEMBER 26, 2015
The Commission approved the request for reserved use of a portion of the
athletic fields from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday from May 1 -July 29,
2015 for spring conditioning practice but denied the request for reserved use
of the fields for regular season practice from August 3-November 26, 2015.
F. DISCUSSION REGARDING DEVELOPMENT OF A SENIOR CITIZEN
MASTER PLAN
At a previous meeting Commissioner Georgina requested the Commission
consider recommending development of a Senior Citizen/Older Adult Master
Plan to the City Council. After discussion the Commission tabled this item
requesting additional information from staff.
4. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
A. The Commission received and filed the Parks and Recreation Director's
Report for April 2015.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file this report.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2014-15 City Budget.
