Town Board Briefing
August 16, 2017
Please note that members of the Town Board will have dinner together starting at
5:30pm.
The regular meeting will begin at 6:00pm. However, the Town Board will begin with an
executive session regarding water matters. This is expected to conclude by 7:00pm.
Resolution 2017-08-01 is provided to correct a typo from the original resolution in 2010
(the original resolution referenced the incorrect district number).
Please review 2017-08-02 closely as it makes many commitments. The Board may
want to remove from consent to discuss. I would note that this includes required
language for inclusion and would also note this will provide us with resources that will
help us reduce other costs.
While I work with the Winter Park Manager to finalize an intergovernmental agreement
per the discussion at the last meeting, the Mayor and I thought it would be appropriate to
seek authorization to pay the April 2017 transit invoice. We’ve asked for more backup to
the invoice per your request.
See enclosed Planner’s briefing regarding 842 Mink and Ordinance 446.
I’d like to provide an overview of our status on the traffic calming and pedestrian
improvements and seek approval to remove the survey work (approximately $35,000) in
order to position the project for implementation in 2018. While this would result in a
slight increase in Town costs for the project, if we do not initiate survey work now, this
project will not be implemented until 2019.
Finally, as discussed earlier this year, I’d like to recommend that the availability of
service fee be repealed. An ordinance is included for your consideration.
