CALL TO ORDER
The January 4, 2010, "Pre- Meeting" Work Session was convened at 5:47 P.M. by President
Pro Tempore Mike Harvey in the absence of Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present at the time the meeting convened:
Present: Ferguson (arrived 5:49 P.M.), Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Medin, Penfold,
Pope, Scrivner and Struemph
Absent: Carroll
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
BILLS PENDING:
Bills 2009 -110, 2009 -111, and 2009 -112 (liquor ordinances) - Councilman Dan Klindt
stated he would like to place these on the Informal Calendar tonight to allow more time to
discuss some of the associated issues.
2009 -116 (tattooing) - Since Councilwoman Carrie Carroll is absent tonight, and has
requested that this item be placed on the Informal Calendar in her absence, City Counselor
Nathan Nickolaus explained that would have to be accomplished by a motion, second, and
simple majority vote of the Council.
2009 -117 (indigent trash service program) - Councilman Ron Medin stated he will be
placing this bill on the Informal Calendar.
INFORMAL CALENDAR:
2009 -97 (sidewalk moratorium) - Councilman Dan Klindt reported that this will die on the
Informal Calendar tonight.
2009 -105 (parking on E. Franklin) - Councilman Ron Medin stated he will leave this on the
Informal Calendar.
RESOLUTIONS:

RS2009 -40 (establishing location of new Animal Shelter) - Councilman Jim Penfold
asked Community Development Director Pat Sullivan to explain the reason for this
resolution during the Regular meeting later.
