Lois felt the Council and the Committee were not working together on the same goal and she does not know where to go from here. She said alot of the people are willing to help on the old building if we know where we are going. Craig Rockwood mentioned that the Council are the ones who pulled the rug out from underneath the Committee. They were given the go- ahead and then all of a sudden the doors were closed because of the Asbestos problem. Mayor Hansen said that the City needs to be covered of the liability and a record needs to be kept of everything that goes on in the way of remodeling. It was suggested to paint and patch as Mr. Jordan from the School Dist. suggested, and then have an inspector in. Lois suggested keeping a seperate record and an account of people working and donating their time etc. She said the Committee will keep a record and manage the building. Dick Lee is tearing up the carpet and will lay carpet in. The Council gave their approval to the Committee to go ahead in the old building and clean etc. Ross Johnson reported on the Safety Inspection that was done. There are some things that need to be done. CART was discussed. They want to work with us and inform the community of their services. Dave Huntsman mentioned that there has not been any advertising of their services here in Iona. They have not done what they said they would do like installing signs and stops where the buses will be. Dee Johnson suggested having a town meeting and letting CART inform our community of their services. Ross Johnson reported on the meeting he attended in Boise on Lead & Copper. Changes are coming. Mayor Hansen said that Blaine Drewes from Division of Environmental Quality will keep us posted. Mayor Hansen said Deb Sorenson had mentioned to her about re- hiring Bob Evinger to work in the Old building painting etc. Bob had told Ross if he could work a few hours each week he would not move to Roberts. It was decided to hire Bob for 20 hours minimun each week for 5 months. If Ross can use him for more hours he can. If he works more than 20 hours each week then retirement needs to be paid. Dave Huntsman inquired about Kelly Walker, who is over Animal Control. He has moved from Iona to Rigby but will fill his contract until the first of the year. Dee Johnson mentioned Albert Davidson had visited with him about covering the ditch. He wants to put a culvert in. Ross said he needs a 15" culvert. Dee said he would mention that to Mr. Davidson. It was suggested that may be he wait until the water system is finished so it won't be dug up twice. Craig Rockwood mentioned he had not heard back from Mrs. Shepherd about her culvert. He was inquiring about Beatrice Dolan and her property. She is in a rest home. Her Estate is taken care of by Dan Nelson. Craig was wondering about talking to him about the ground across from the 6-12 store that the City would like to buy from Mrs. Dolan. Mayor Hansen mentioned getting a letter from Division of Environmental Quality okaying the well site etc. Craig Rockwood mentioned Dale Storer the City's Attorney, had called and was a little upset that he had not seen any of the paper work on the Water Bond. Mayor Hansen mentioned she had talked to him. Mayor Hansen mentioned a letter she had received on the abandoned well by the 6-12 store. It needs to be covered correctly. It was deeded over Aug. 16, 1966 and the City will be liable for the well. Mayor Hansen wondered about having to re -open the budget for the monies on the building. We will wait and see. Dave Huntsman mentioned the Walker family had called him in regards to their property right -away. The barn sits on the right -away and they wanted to know what to do about it. It needs to be settled with authorities. Mayor Hansen reported that Ted Hendricks from ECIPDA says if we make the short list we will be able to go to Boise to present our Grant to the Board. We need to meet with another representative and he will interview us before the 10th of Dec. It was decided to have our Council Meeting next month at 6:00 pm and see if the Auditor could come then and Ted Hendricks to discuss the Water Bond Grant. We will have our City Council Christmas Party at Ernie's right after the meeting at 7:30 pm. Dee Johnson moved we adjourn at 10:15 pm. CHECKS MADE FOR OCT.
