' .A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATION OF THREE -THOUSAND TWO-HUNDRED DOLLARS FROM THE_
UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND BALANCE FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE
HERSHEY TRACK & FIELD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
- Whereas, the City of Lynwood has continued to be represented by hundreds of •
" youth in the Hershey State Track'& Field Championships; and ~ .
~ Whereas,. the Hershey Track & Field State Championship was held on
- Jude 10, 2000 at San Bernardino City College and nearly 5000 athletes representing
`the state of California competed in separate'competitions across the-state for ari ,
opportunity to compete in the Hershey National Track & Field Championships; and .
Whereas, 100 athletes from the City of.Lynwood competed in •the '
competition held in San Bernardino. Times and distances for all of the athletes were compared
against other states in the western region including Hawaii; Oregon, Nevada, .Arizona, and the '
. state of Washington to name just a.few; and ~ _
. ~ ~ Whereas, five young athletes have qualified to represent the City of Lynwood in
the Hershey National Track & Field Championships; and ~ ,
' Whereas, the Youth representing the City of Lynwood will-have. all their
. expenses paid for through the Hershey Track & Field program;'and •
• Whereas, the age of these Youth.indcatesthct Parent chaperones would be -
- appropriate; and'
_ ~ Whereas, parents have requested to attend this. event; and
NOW; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of ~'. ~ "
