A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING AN
AMENDMENT TO RESOLUTION NO. 85-129,
LYNWOOD FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL
3506 WORK SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, the Supreme Court decision in the case of Garcia vs. San
Antonio Metropolitan Transit System extended the provisions of the Fair Labor
Standards Act to local government; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood adopted Resolution
No. 85-129, which created the twenty-seven (27) day work schedule to comply with the
Fair Labor Standards Act; and
WHEREAS, the City ofiynwood is currently negotiating with the Los
Angeles County Fire Department to provide service to the City of Lynwood.; and
WHEREAS, the changing to the Los Angeles County .Fire Department
work schedule and the twenty-four (24) day should enhance the cross training that will
need to be completed prior to the transfer to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
NOW. THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council adopts the twenty-four (24) day work
schedule to replace the twenty-seven (27) day work schedule.
Section 2. This will enhance the consolidation of the Lynwood Fire
Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department by working the same work
schedule.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect on August 2, 2000.
