HomeMy Public PortalAbout20100111 work sessionCOUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 11, 2010 1 CALL TO ORDER The Work Session of January 11, 2010 was convened at 5:35 P.M. by Mayor John Landwehr. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present: Present: Carroll (arrived at 5:53 P.M.), Ferguson, Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Medin, Penfold, Pope (arrived at 5:42 P.M.), Scrivner, and Struemph Absent: None A quorum was present. TOPICS OF DISCUSSION This part of the meeting was held in the City Council Chambers to accommodate attendees. Mayor John Landwehr welcomed Cole County Commissioners Marc Ellinger and Jeff Hoelscher to the meeting and thanked them for coming. MoDOT Presentation of Hwy. 50 Environmental Impact Study (EIS): Mayor John Landwehr introduced Roger Schwartze, who made brief comments and then turned over the podium to Mr. Mike Duesenberg who made an overhead power point presentation. Following the presentation, both Mr. Schwartze and Mr. Duesenberg answered questions about the study results asked by both the City Council and the Cole County Commission members and the time line for the project in the future. Public materials will be made available in the City Clerk's Office, as well as online and in other locations in the City and County.] The meeting moved to the Boone - Bancroft Room and the County Commission members left at this time (6:10 P.M.) MASTER PLAN OF REQUIRED SIDEWALKS: City Planner Janice McMillan made a presentation and distributed materials regarding the proposed master plan of required sidewalks in the City, and answered questions asked by the Council. At the conclusion of her presentation and questions, staff suggested the next COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 11, 2010 2 step in the process would be introduction of an ordinance at the January 19 City Council meeting, and also recommended holding public forums on the issue to get public input on the issue. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business brought forward, the meeting adjourned at 7:10 P.M.
