RESOLUTION 2013-21
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING SURPLUS PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE &o
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Community School Corporation owns property which is commonly
known and used as a portion of the parking lot behind Miller School, a description of which is attached
hereto and incorporated herein;
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle owns Miller School and the remainder of the parking lot
behind the school;
WHEREAS, the Miller School property ceased to operate as a primary school and is no longer
being used as an administration building for the school system;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Community School Corporation wishes to deed its interest in the
property to the City of Greencastle so that the parcel can be combined with the parcels containing the school
building and remaining parking lot and can be offered for redevelopment.
NOW THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Common Council of the City of Greencastle,
pursuant to Indiana Code 36-1-11-8, does hereby agree to accept said transfer of property as described
in the Quitclaim Deed which is attached hereto and incorporated herein.
PASSED AND RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle

QUITCLAIM DEED
This indenture witnesseth that the Greencastle Community School Corporation (formerly Greencastle
Consolidated Schools), of PUTNAM COUNTY, in the state of Indiana, does hereby release and
quitclaim to the City of Greencastle, of PUTNAM COUNTY in the STATE OF INDIANA, for no
consideration, all of its rights, title and interest in, as its interest may appear, to the following
described real estate located in the city of Greencastle, Putnam County in the State of Indiana, to-wit:
Part of Lot 75 in the Eastern Enlargement to the Town, now City of Greencastle, Indiana, more
particularly described as follows: Beginning at an iron pipe indicating the Southeast corner of Lot
75 in the Eastern Enlargement to the Town, now City, of Greencastle, Indiana; thence North along
the East line of said Lot 75, one hundred forty-six and five tenths (146.5) feet to a point; thence
Westerly, parallel to the South line of said Lot 75, two hundred (200) feet to a point; thence South
parallel to the East line of said lot, one hundred forty-six and five-tenths (146.5) feet to a point;
thence East two hundred (200) feet to the point of beginning, containing 0.67 acres, more or less.
