. ~ - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY ~ .
- ~ OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE FUNDS,
. APPROPRIATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN
VEHICLE AND EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR THE
- MONITORING AND ENFORCEMENT OF COMMERCIAL
VEHICLES, AND APPROVING THE PURCHASE THROUGH
AN INFORMAL BIDDING ~. ' ,

"WHEREAS, on April. 23; 1998, the City of Lynwood, and the :Alameda .Corridor
Transportation Authority (ACTA) executed certain..Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) .
relative to :the construction of the Alameda Corridor; and
-WHEREAS; said MOU requires ACTA to ~ pay the City $170,000 for .the
implementation 'of the monitoring and enforcement program of illegal use of city streets by
commercial vehicles generated by the corridor construction; and
' WHEREAS, said program requires the ~ purchase of one vehicle equipped "with
certain monitoring and inspection equipment, which has been estimated to cost $50,000; and .
WHEREAS, the staff recommends the timely implementation of this program; and ~ }
WHEREAS, the purchase of said vehicle and equipment can. be done more
" expeditiously through an informal. bidding process; and ` .
' WHEREAS, the Lynwood Municipal Code, Section 6-3.13 allows the inform, al
f.-- bidding process with a 4/5 vote. ,

NOW; THEREFORE; be it resolved by the Lynwood City Council as .follows:
` Section 1. The City Council authorizes the City Manager of his~designee to make
the following funds appropriation and transfer for the purchase of the vehicle and necessary
equipment as follows:

. Section.2. '.The City Council approves said purchase be done through an informal
y bidding process by a 4/5 vote. ~ `
' Section,3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
