ORDINANCE 2004 -30
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A LATE PAYMENT CHARGE FOR
TRASH BILLS
WHEREAS, the current monthly fee charged for trash and refuse pick -up and disposal
services is $ 10.00 per household, per month.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Greencastle wishes to establish a penalty
for late payment of trash bills.
NOW THEREFORE be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle that
Section 6 -101 be added to the Greencastle City Code to read as follows:
Sec. 6 -101 Late Payment Charge
Payments for trash service are due on the l0 of each month. The City shall allow a one
business day grace period after the 10` of the month before assessing a late payment charge. All
bills for trash service not paid on or before that date shall be subject to a late payment charge of 10%
of the bill.
This Ordinance shall have full force and effect upon passage of the Greencastle Common
Council and its approval by the Mayor.
