. ~ ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNVi/OOD APPROVING
THE ALLOCATION OF 2000 LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANTS FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the Omnibus Fiscal Year 2000 Appropriatiohs Act, provides funds for the
implementation of the Local Law Enforcement Block`Grants (LLE$G) Program; and

WHEREAS, the purpose of the, LLEBG .Program is _to. provide .funds to'units of local
governmenYto.underwrite projects to reduce crime and improve public safety; and
~~ WHEREAS,.. pursuant to Resolution No: 2000.151, the City Council directed the City
~~ ~ ~ Manager to draft the proposed allocation of-funds under the LLEBG Program, to organize the
, ~ advisory board, and to schedule a public hearing on the proposed use of the grant funds; and ,
~. WHEREAS; the advisory board on September 14, 2000 reviewed the proposed .allocation
of'the 2000 LLEBG' funds and recommended the following allocation: 1) Special Assignment
.- ..Officer (Abatement) ($108,201); 2) Motor Officer ($108,201);- 3) Special-Assignment Officer.
(Narcotcs) ($105,827). '' ~ °
WHEREAS, the City Council conducted a public hearing on October. 3, 2000 to, receive
comments on the proposed use-of LCEBG funds;:
NOW THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED THAT THE. CITY COUNCIL OF THE- CITY OF
LYNWOOD, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DOES. HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE,. DETERMINE
AND ORDER A$ FOLLOW:
. SECTION 1. That the City Council authorizes the following allocations ~of the 2000
- LLEBG funds, Cash Match,-and Interest:
2000 LLEBG ~

LLEBG,. Cash Match, and.lnterest
• S ecial Assi nment Officer Abatement ,

• Motor Officer $108,201
• S ecial Assi nment Officer Narcotics $105,837

SECTION 2.~ That the .City Council authorizes the additional appropriation of $.16,000
from the drug, seizure funds,to supplement the LLEBG Funds: .. - -

SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediatelynpon its:adoption.
SECTION 4. That the City Council authorize the City Manger to obligate 2000 Locale.
Law Enforcement Block Grant funds, Cash Match, and Interest within the defined Purpose Area 1:
Supporting the hiring, training, and employing of additional law enforcement officers.and
necessary support personnel on a continuing basis not exhausted by the end of the grant`term to
. expedite expenditures and prevent compromising the funds:
