A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
LYNWOOD GENERAL PLAN (GPA 2000-01) CHANGING
THE LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM TOWN HOUSE
AND CLUSTER HOUSING TO MULTI-FAMILY
RESIDENTIAL FOR PROPERTIES AT THE SOUTHEAST
CORNER OF PLATT AND FERNWOOD AVENUES OF
TRACT NO. 53265, LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood, pursuant to law, held a public
hearing; on a proposed amendment to the Lynwood General Plan (GPA 2000-01) changing
land use designation for properties located at the southeast corner of Platt and Fernwood
Avenues, of Tract No. 53265, in the City of Lynwood; and
WHEREAS the General Plan designation of these parcels has been recommended to
be changed from Townhouse~and Cluster-Housing to Multi-Family Residential; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has carefully considered all pertinent testimony offered
at the public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that multiple family residential use of this
property would be consistent with~the goals and policies of the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at their regularly scheduled meeting on
August 8, 2000 recommended approval of this General Plan Amendment; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Development has determined that the
proposal is exempt from the California Environmental Qualify. Act (CEQA), pursuant to
Section 15303 (b);
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood finds and determines that:
A. AMulti-Family Residential designation of this property would be compatible with
surrounding land use.
B. The subject properties would accommodate future residential development due to
their size, location, and proximity to other residential land uses.
C. The General Plan Amendment from Townhouse and Cluster Housing to Multi-
Family Residential would be consistent with the goals and policies of the General
Plan.
D. The proposed General Pl:~n Amendment will not be detrimental to the properties
surrounding the site.
Section 2. The Cit ~ Council of the City of Lynwood, based upon the
aforementioned findings and determinations, hereby approves General Plan Amendment
No. 2000-01, changing the General Plan map designation from Townhouse and Cluster
Housing to Multi-Family Residential, for properties located at the southeast corner of Platt
and Fernwood Avenues, including a portions of 483, 484,480, 489, 508, 509, lots 488,
487, 486, and 485, Tract No. 2551, Assessors Parcel No. 6173-005, City of Lynwood,
County of Los Angeles..

Section 3: The amendment of the Land Use Policy Map will not have a significant
effect on the environment and is Categorically Exempt from the provisions of the California
Environmental Quality Act and State CEQA Guidelines.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 7th 'day of November, 2000 by members of the City
Council voting as follows:
