RESIDENTIAL. FOR PROPERTIE5 LOCATED AT THE
" f'-'~ SOUTHEAST CORNER OF PLATT AND FERNWOOD
~ AVENUES, LOTS 489, 490, 508 AND 5.09 OF TRACT NO.
~ 2551, LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood, pursuant to law, held a public
. hearing on a proposed amendment to the Lynwood General Plan (GPA 2000-O1) changing
.land use designation for properties located at the southeast corner of Platt and Fernwood
Avenues, of Tract No. 2551, in the City of Lynwood; and ~ .
WHEREAS the.~General Plan designation. of these parcels has been recommended to
be changed from Townhouse and Cluster Housing to Multi-Family Residential; and
WHEREAS, the City .Council has carefully:considered all pertinent testimony offered '
at the public hearing; and • .
WHEREAS;...the. Council .has determined that multiple family residential use of this. ~~
property would be consistent-with thetgoals and policies of the General Plan;. and ~:
WHEREAS, the. Planning Commission; at their. regularly scheduled meeting on
~i August 8, 2000 recommended approval of this General Plan Amendment; and .
WHEREAS, 'the' Director of Community Development has determined that the
- ~ .proposal is exempt ::from :the California. Environmental Qualify Act (CEQA) pursuant to
Sections 15303(b) and 15332;-
~N01N, THEREFORE the Ci Council aof the City of Lynwood hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1. That the City;Council of the City of Lynwood finds and determines that:
_ ~ A: AMulti-Family Residential ;designation of this property would be compatible with
surrounding land uses. ~ .
. ~ B. The subject properties would accommodate future residential development due to.
" their size, location, and proximity to other residential land uses. "- " .
C. The General Plan Amendment from Townhouse and Cluster Housing to Multi-
Family Residential would be consistent with the goals and policies of the General
Plan.
D. The proposed General Plan Amendment will not be detrimen~al to they' ro erties
. ~ i surrounding the site. - ~ ~ p p .
Section 2. The City Council ~ of ttie City of Lynwood, based .upon the
aforementioned findings and determinations, hereby approves General Plan Amendment
No: 2000-01, changing the General ,Plan Land Use map ..designation from Townhouse and
Cluster Housing to Multi-Family Residential, for: properties located' at the southeast corner
of Platt~and Fernwood Avenues, including'a portions of 489, 490, 508; 509, lots, .Tract No.
.2551; Assessors Parcel No. 6173-005,-City ofe Lynwood, County of Los Angeles. i

Section 3: The amendment of'the Land Use Policy Map will not have a significant
effect on the environment and is Categorically Exempt from.the .provisions of the California
Environmental Quality Act and State ~CEQA Guidelines.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 21st day of November, 2000 by members of the City
