- - _ A~RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCII., OF TIIE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE
, ' - - ~ APPROPRIATION OF EIGHTEEN ,THOUSAND DOLLARS. FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED ~ -
GENERAL FUND BALANCE FOR THE 200.1_ YOUTH BASEBALL CLINIC . ;
- WI=IEREAS, T'he City of Lynwood has one of the most .outstanding youth baseball ~ -
programs in all of southeastern Los Angeles; and
.~ ~ . ~ .
. ~ ~ "WHEREAS, The Youth Baseball Clinic is an ideal method to kick=off the baseball
• season which .is conducted in conjunction with the Lynwood Sports Association; and
. ,
_ .
WHEREAS, The clinic willhave two. (2) celebrity:hosts including Mr. James •
• Bishop and' Mr.. Mario "Tony" Miranda, both of which. grew up here in the City of
Lynwood grid went on to flourishing careers in Major League Baseball; and
- ~ WHEREAS, The Youth Baseball Program serves hundreds. of_Lynwood youth
between the ages of five (5) and sixteen.(16) years of age. ~ ~ "
• ~ WHEREAS, .finis is a program which was not funded. as part of the 2000/2001 '
fiscal budget; and .. .
_ WHEREAS, The projected operating budget for this program is eighteen-thousand
•. dollars' (;$.18;00.0.00).. _ _
y - NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of"the City ofLynwood,does hereby find,
- . _ proclaim, order and~~resolve as follows: ~ ~ ~ '
Section 1: Thee City Manager. or his designee is authorized ~to carryout any
` necessary .transactions as so •ordered by this res'olution.. .

1 ppropnation m the amount of eighteen thousand dollars
($18,000.00) be allocated from the unappropriated general fund balance n~the~following
