A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROPRIATING ONE HUNDRED THIRTY -NINE THOUSAND, SEVEN
HUNDRED DOLLARS FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND
BALANCE TO CONDUCT PROGRAMS IN HONOR OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD'S 80TH ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood was incorporated on July 16, 1921; and
WHEREAS, to commemorate this date in history the City of Lynwood has
during various intervals, provided the community with various brochures and activities;
and
WHEREAS, most recently the City of Lynwood held activities and prepared a
commemorative program for the 70t". as well as the 75`" anniversaries of the City; and
WHEREAS, staff has now developed a complete slate of activities and
commemorative souvenirs to honor the 80`" anniversary of the City of Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, this endeavor as recommended by City of Lynwood staff will cost
$139,700.00; and
WHEREAS, neither this program nor the budget associated with it were included
as part of the 2000/2001 fiscal budget adopted by the Lynwood City Council.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
proclaim,, order and resolve as follows:

Section 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager or his designee to
undertake any and all financial transactions identified in this resolution.
Section 3. This resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
