HomeMy Public PortalAbout34 Appropriation Limit 99-00Town of Truckee California RESOLUTION NO. 99-34 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE ESTABLISHING AN APPROPRIATIONS LIMIT FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000 PURSUANT TO ARTICLE XIIIB OF THE CALIFORNIA CONSTITUTION WHEREAS, Article XIHB of the Califomia Constitution provides that the total annual appropriations subject to limitation of each governmental entity, including this Town, shall not exceed the appropriation limit of such entity of govemment for the prior year adjusted for changes in population and inflation mandated by Proposition 4 passed in November, 1979, and Proposition 111 in June, 1990, except as otherwise provided for in said Article XII1B and implementing State statutes; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said Article XIIIB of said California Constitution, and Section 7900 et seq. of the California Government Code, the Town is required to set its appropriation limit for each fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the Town Manager has interpreted the technical provisions of said Propositional computations and has caused a technical review to be made of the documentation for the Town's said appropriation limitation, and has caused the numbers upon which the Town's appropriation limit was and is based to be calculated, and in the process has relied on the temporary base limit approved by the voters upon incorporation on November 3, 1992, to the present fiscal year of 1999-2000; and WHEREAS, based on such calculations the Town Manager has determined the appropriation limit and, pursuant to Section 7910 the California Government Code, has made available to the public the documentation used in the determination of said appropriation limit; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE, that said appropriation limit for fiscal year 1999-00 shall be and is hereby set in the amount of $7,451,165 for said fiscal year. The foregoing Resolution was introduced at a Regular Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Truckee, held on the 1st day of July, 1999, by Councilmember Drake who moved its adoption, which motion being duly seconded by Councilmember Florian was upon roll call carried and the Resolution adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Drake, Florian, McCormack, Schneider & Mayor Susman NOES: None ABSENT: None Vicki C.
