A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD PLEDGING SUPPORT TO CONSERVE
ENERGY
WHEREAS, the State of California, the League of California Cities, the California State
Association of Counties (CSAC), and the California Special Districts Association (CSDA) are ,
.requesting all California cities, counties and special districts for continued cooperation in
implementing energy conservation and efficiency measures in governmental facilities and in the
communities. ;and
WHEREAS, since January 2001, to reduce energy use, efforts have resulted in
substantial reductions in electricity use and assisted the State in making it through the difficult winter
and spring months.
WHEREAS, by signing the pledge, cities, counties and special districts would agree to
implement programs. to reduce electricity use in local mayor government buildings and facilities by up
to 15% over last year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood
as follows•
Section 1. That the City of Lynwood pledge to cooperate with the State in
implementing energy conservation to further reduce energy consumption.
Section 2. That the Director of Public Works Department is authorized to sign and
submit the Energy Conservation Pledge Form and the Energy and Efficiency coordinator Identification
form.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
