RE: Agenda Item — Approval of Gift Expenditures
I am pleased to inform you that the Town has or will be receiving a number of donations for the
community event honoring Watertown's First Responders. These donations were given to offset
expenditures related to this community event. The Watertown's First Responders Event will
take place on Thursday, June 27th, 6 PM at Perkins School for the Blind.
The gifts of funds to be received are as follows:
athenahealth $2,000.00
Belmont Savings Bank $ 500.00
Cambridge Savings Bank $ 250.00
Mitchell Properties, LLC $ 250.00
Nstar Electric & Gas $ 500.00
Republic Services $1,200.00
Toyota of Watertown $ 500.00
Tufts Health Plan $2,500.00
Watertown Mall $ 200.00
Watertown Savings Bank $ 500.00
$8, 400.00
Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 44, Section 53A, any expenditure of gifts of
funds needs the approval of the Town Manager and Town Council.

Resolution approving the Acceptance and Expenditure of Gifts of Funds
WHEREAS: from time to time, this community is the beneficiary of a gift donated towards
improving the quality and spirit of its inhabitants lives; and
WHEREAS: the Watertown's First Responders Event has received a number of donations
that were given to offset expenditures related this community event honoring Watertown's First
Responders;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Town Council of the City known as the
Town of Watertown, hereby accepts and appropriates, pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws
Chapter 44, Section 53A, monetary gifts in the amount of $8,400 received for Watertown's First
Responders Event.

I hereby certify that at a regular meeting of the Town Council for which a quorum was present,
the above resolution was adopted by a vote of for, against and present on June 26,
2013.
