CALL TO ORDER
The May 16, 2008, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:00 P.M. by Mayor John
Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Carroll, Ferguson, Harvey, Koon, Medin, Penfold, and Smith
Absent: Crane, Klindt, and Layton
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
2008 -9 (Tour of Missouri agreement): Questions were asked regarding some of the
requirements of the agreement, and City Administrator Steve Rasmussen stated he would
relay those questions to City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus who is absent from today's
meeting.
2008 -10 (Land Development LLC agreement): Questions were asked regarding whether
Menard's would be participating in the TDD established for Kohl's. Community Development
Director Pat Sullivan stated that they did not want to participate in the TDD and chose to
pay the transportation improvement money up front instead.
2008 -16 (Contract with Concrete Engineering, LLC): Community Development Director
Pat Sullivan explained why staff is recommending the second -high bidder in this project
based on negative prior experiences with the low bidder. He stated that the issue has been
placed on a Public Works and Planning Committee agenda which will be held at 7:45 A.M.
on the day after the Council meeting (Tuesday, May 20) and invited anyone to come and
discuss the issue.
