RESOLUTION NO. fig- '25
WHEREAS, land in Hennepin County is to valuable to be used to discard
our unwanted materials and refuse;
WHEREAS, we are running out of landfill sites.
WHEREAS, the country and the state is running out of fuel, minerals
and other raw products needed to maintain our present lifestyle.
WHEREAS, our refuse contains many of the ingredients required for
producing fuels and other products needed to maintain our civilization.
WHEREAS, the cost of refuse disposal or recycling is an important
ingredient in holding down cost of doing business in our country.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Medina encourages both
the City of Minneapolis and the County of Hennepin to proceed rapidly in
providing a Refuse Recovery or RDF plant that both provides the best
recovery benefit for the lowest long term bond retirement and operating
cost.
Adopted by the Medina City Council this 7 day of June , 1983.
