THE CITY OF BEL AIRE, KANSAS
ORDINANCE NO. J &,3
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING STREET PARKING BY PROHIBITING THE
PARKING OF VEHICLES ON A CERTAIN ROADWAY WITHIN THE CITY OF
BEL AIRE, KANSAS; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION
THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BEL AIRE, KANSAS:
Section 1. Parking Prohibited
The Governing Body having determined it in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare
of the citizens of Bel Aire, Kansas that vehicle parking be prohibited on both sides of the driveway
providing access to the parking lot of the city park located in the 5200 block of 48th Street North
from Hedgerow Street, said parking is hereby prohibited.
Section 2. Definitions
"Vehicle" as used in this ordinance shall mean every device in, upon, or by which any person
or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a roadway.
"Parking" shall mean the standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, otherwise than
temporarily for the purpose of and actually engaged in loading and unloading passengers or property.
Section 3. Penalty
Upon the posting of signs prohibiting parking as provided herein, any owner or operator of
a vehicle parked in violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon being found guilty of
violating the provisions of this ordinance, be subject to a fine of not more than Twenty Dollars
($20.00).
Section 4. Effective Date
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in the official
city newspaper. Enforcement may commence upon posting of the speed limit declared herein.
