CALL TO ORDER
The June 13, 2008, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:05 P.M. by Mayor John
Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Carroll, Crane, Ferguson, Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Medin, Penfold, and
Smith
Absent: Layton
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Public Hearings: City Planner Janice McMillan suggested taking up Bill 2008 -21 at the
same time as 2008 -20 and 2008 -22 since they are all related. Councilman Jim Penfold
asked questions about 2008 -20 which will be answered at the public hearing on Monday
night. City Planner Janice McMillan was asked to outline the Central East Side Plan as it
pertains to this plan.
Presentations from Staff and Invited Guests: Assistant Community Director Charles
Lansford will also make a brief presentation following the presentation which will be given
by Lorie Rosburg pertaining to the City / County Animal Control issue.
Bill 2008 -24 and 2008 -25 (Wall Way vacation): Mayor John Landwehr asked City
Counselor Nathan Nickolaus to follow up with the County before the Council votes on these
two bills Monday night.
Bill 2008 -18 (food service code fees): Discussion was held regarding staff's sending out
the invoices for the food inspection fees before this issue is resolved.
RS2008 -10 (single- stream recycling): Following discussion, Mayor John Landwehr asked
City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus to provide the Council with a legal opinion regarding
legality of extending the current contract before they vote on this issue Monday night.
