CALL TO ORDER
The Council "Pre- Meeting" Work Session of July 7, 2008, was convened at 5:45 P.M. by Mayor John
Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Crane, Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Layton, Medin, and Penfold
Absent: Carroll and Ferguson
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Upcoming meetings & events:
Councilman Brian Crane stated he will announce a JCTV Steering Committee meeting for July 10.
City Administrator Steve Rasmussen will announce the July 14 Council Work Session and will give
the two topics which are scheduled to be discussed at that meeting.
City Administrator Steve Rasmussen announced there will be a public presentation of the status of
the conference center project given by Garfield -Traub on July 21 at 1:30 P.M. at city Hall where the
public and Council can attend.
Bills:
Bill 2008 -28 (Replat of Central Mo. Medical Place Subdivision) - Councilman Dan Klindt stated
he has been requested by the parties working on this project to suspend the rules so they can move
forward with the project. He stated that the project has been ongoing for about two years and they
would like to move forward as quickly as possible during this construction season. He indicated he
would likely make that request in the regular meeting unless the Council feels he should not do so.
New Business:
Councilman Rich Koon stated he is going to make a motion to open nominations for the vacant Ward
Three Council seat at tonight's meeting. City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus advised no motion is
needed to open nominations, but a motion would be needed to close nominations. Following
discussion, Councilman Koon stated he would make a motion tonight to also close nominations.
The meeting adjourned at 6:02 P.M.
