Call to Order 2. Acceptance of Minutes [1.10.12] • Approved - Gino, Laura, Nancy abstained as they weren’t at last meeting 3. Website • Our website is continuing on the current website until town website ready i. We have already approved up to $60 to pay for existing website, HopGreen.com ii. Reroute automatically from HopGreen to town website • Will migrate once town website and training is available, target is March/April timeframe • Transitioning to new website, easier to use, we would have password so that our administrator could modify website whenever • Gino will take training 4. High School Floor Plans and Recycling Bin Locations • Caroline met with Fire Chief Clark, she has floor plans • Can put the bins anywhere in hall, just can’t put in stairwells. Also would put one by Gym and Locker Room. i. See if John K can contact Harvey’s to get toters, once define number needed • Paper is already being addressed well so focus on bottles and cans • Walk the halls and decide where to place the large toters for cans and bottles • Would be ideal to walk this down with students and Jim Marzak i. Caroline schedule a time for a weekend walk-through, including Jim ii. Would be good to have Chief Clark do a final walk-through with group • Not clear where cans/bottles are dumped today – go into a big dumpster?? 5. “Energy Choices” HCAM Video • Peter working on an HCAM series called Energy Choices i. Select Energy – solar install ii. Conservation Services Group – residential buildings, include inspection of home post insulation/pre-wallboard iii. Municipal episode – sustainable green committee efforts, include schools – lighting, motor drives, solar panels SGC 021412 ~~ REV. 9/17/2012 ~~ PAGE 2 OF 2 iv. Sustainable Green Committee – why on committee, examples of items might have around home, etc 6. Power Options/Sun Edison Webinar • Through Dave Daltario, group purchasing power webinar • 3.1.12 – 10 AM – 12 PM • Very related to solar discussion/project 7. Solar Hot Water Feasibility Study Available from Mass CEC • Consultant come in and perform survey as to where we could use hot water – they would get state funds to perform study • Would help us apply for grants to fund installations • Committee approved that Andy will complete form to have study performed • 7 slots available 8. Town Solar Discussion • Goal is to find a location to house a solar facility similar to the one done in Dennis, MA – John K, Aubrey, Andy • Dennis project will save ~$18mil over 20 years • Andy spoke with John Cutino, very interested i. Terry property could potentially be a viable location ii. Have to buy all land, cost $3 mil iii. Could also look at Fruit Street 9. Old Business • Bus locations i. Potentially split busses at multiple locations throughout town ii. Need locations approved for up to 5 years iii. Could save up to $100k in gas and excise taxes by doing this. Could provide modest stipends for these locations. iv. Could locate busses at different locations over weekends. v. Frank and Laura to investigate further. 10. New Business • Marathon Day activities i. There are companies that are “certified green”, would be interested to see what could be done to get it certified green ii. Would need to work with the Marathon Committee to coordinate this iii. Typically have a table that weekend iv. Link up with New Balance again re renewable shirts and sneakers Adjourned at 9:10 PM.
