A RESOLUTION •OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF a
LYNWOOD TO PROVIDE THE APPROPRIATION OF $27,000,
. TWENTY-SEVEN THOUSAND IDOLLARS FROM THE
UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND BALANCE TO ACQUIRE A
DATABASE TRAFFIC COLLISION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood at its June 5, 2001,. City Council meeting
accepted the grant agreement of $27,000 from the California Traffic Safety Program, the Office
i ~-~ of Traffic Safety'(OTS).for atraffic collision database GIS software program, and
~~ WHEREAS, the Cit of L nwood has identified• a traff

database system that will provide up-to-date traffic collision data, and
WHEREAS, staff has identified $27,000 of unappropriated general funds that can
be used for the purchase of the database program, and
WHEREAS, The City wilt make the initial purchase of the database program, and
WHEREAS, OTS will reimburse the total amount of Federal funds. .used toward
'" purchase of material and equipment including sales tax,. cost of modification, installation,
' attachments, .accessories or auxiliary apparatus necessary to -make traffic collision.. database
computerized system. usable, and ~ '
WHEREAS, ~ the` purchase of the traffic collision database system can be
completed more expeditiously and economically by an, informal bid procedure, and
WHEREAS, under Section 6-3 13 of the :Lynwood City Code,. the City Council can
authorize the purchase through informal bids by a 4/5 vote

:NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
proclaim, and resolve as follows
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes staff to purchase the traffic collision
database system for the use of the Department of Environmental Services through an informal
bid procedure
Section 2. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to make the
following funds appropriation and transfers

Unappropriated Traffic Signal Maintenance
General Fund - $27,000 Account No 3-4448-4220 - $27,000
' Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption
