A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE.
APPROPRIATION OF NINETEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED
GENERAL FUND BALANCE FOR THE 2002 YOUTH BASEBALL CLINIC
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood'has one of the most outstanding youth baseball
programs in-all of southeastern Los Angeles serving youth between the ages of f ve. (5) `'
and sixteen (16) years of age; and

.~ ~ WHEREAS, Lynwood Athlerics and Community Services organization has again
--_.-~ approached the City of Lynwood offering to conduct a Youth Baseball Clinic, and
' WHEREAS, The clinic wall have two .(2) •celebrity hosts including Mr. James
Bishop and Mr Mario "Tony" Miranda, both of which grew up here in the City of
Lynwood and' went on to flourishing careers m Mayor. League Baseball, and
WHEREAS, This program will be offered free-of-charge to Lynwood City
Residents only and those non-residents who wish to attend and participate in this Youth
Baseball Clinic will be assessed a registration fee, and
' WHEREAS, Thin is a program which was not funded as part of the 2001 /2002
w fiscal budget; and.
} WHEREAS,, The projected operating budget for this program is~nineteen thousand
dollars ($19,000.00)
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does herebyfind,
proclaim, order and resolve as follows
Section 1. The Crty Manager or his designee is authorized to carryout any
necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution.
Section 2. That a fund appropriation in the amount of nineteen thousand dollars
be allocated from the unappropriated general fund balance iri the following fashion•

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
