A RESOLUTION OF THE LYNWOOD CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING RATIFICATION OF THE ATTACHED
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
AND THE CONTRACT CITIES
WHEREAS, As part of the FY 2000 State of California Budgetlocal governments
' were allocated the California I_aw Enforcement Equipment Purchase (CLEEP) -High
Technology Grant for the purchase of high-technology equipment for .law enforcement
~'~"'"~' purposes, and.
WHEREAS, In closed session at the November 21, 2000 City Council Meeting,
the Council authorized staff to turn over the City's allocation to the County of Los
.Angeles Sheriff's Department toward the purchase of LARCIS, and

Section 3. This resolution shall. take effect immediately upon its adoption
WHEREAS, The City of. Lynwood's allocation for this grant was $123,956 and
upon notification of the receipt of funds, Sheriff Baca_ requested that the City of Lynwood
.pool.their resources with other~contract cities and the county toward the purchase of the
Los Angeles Regional Crime Information System (LARGIS), and
WHEREAS, A Memorandum Of Understanding was drafted by the City
Manager's subcommittee of the California Contract Cities Association to formally
document the intended use of the funds and. to establish specific benefits to Contract
Cities who agreed to allocate their grant funding to the Sheriff's Department:
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND .RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
Section 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carry out any
necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution
Section 2. That the City Council authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to sign
the attached Memorandum of Understanding between the Los Angeles County Sheriff's
Department and the Contract Cities
